Furniture Bank

Americans throw out a huge amount of furniture. While much of today's furniture is cheap stuff made of particle board, much of the furniture we toss away could be repurposed.

There is a growing industry called "Furniture Banks" which works to recycle used furniture.

Furniture Bank of Phoenix is a local non-profit that seeks donations of used furniture. The site has programs to help people of modest means to furnish their dwellings.
